Disclaimer
Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) is a federally funded program for young children (birth – age five) and their families who reside in high needs areas of Macon-Bibb and Monroe Counties. In addition, the Head Start/Early Head Start program provides a developmentally appropriate learning environment for the children and a supportive atmosphere for the families being served. The HS/EHS program recognizes parents as their child’s first teacher, while empowering parents for a life- long role in the child’s learning and development process. To achieve this goal, the Head Start/Early Head Start program delivers services to children, families, and pregnant women in the core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being while engaging parents as partners every step of the way.
